Moving to Springfield? The Kelly Butte Neighborhood is
Amazing
Hello, everyone. Are you thinking about moving to Springfield,
Oregon? Well, today we're going to talk about one of my very favorite
neighborhoods. My name is Lauri Howes and I'm a realtor with (Keller Williams
Realty)
We have moved to United Real Estate Properties..... And today we're going to
talk about and tour the Kelley Butte neighborhood in Springfield. And I have to
say, this is one of my most favorite neighborhoods and I will probably retire
here at some point.
So if you're interested in different and specific
neighborhoods in the Eugene/Springfield area, let us know and we can do all the
research for you.
Let's explore Kelly Butte, from the top of the butte there
is a 360-degree view. You can see on the west side all the way to Eugene and on
the east side, downtown Springfield stretched out all the way to Thurston. And
on a really clear day, you can see the Three Sisters in the Cascade Mountains.
Most of the homes on the west side have daylight basements, so they look like
single stories. But behind them is a whole downstairs and they have absolutely
beautiful views of the city and sunsets.
Here at the top, we're looking out the east side. I really
wish it was a clear day, but we get what we get here in Oregon. Homes prices on
the West side (view side) of the butte, run anywhere from $400,00 to $600,000.
The homes on the other side of the street run from $75,000 to $400,000,
depending on condition. Occasionally you can get a great deal on a fixer upper.
There is a lot of different architecture up here. There's a
lot of midcentury modern homes and traditional ranch homes and an occasional A
frame and manufactured home the neighborhood is quite eclectic. The lots on
Kelly Butte are anywhere from a 1/4 acre, lots to ½ acre lots. So they're quite
sizable and most are very well landscaped with mature landscaping so it feels
very private when you're in your yard. With all the trees and shrubs in the
neighborhood it gives you that country feel, even though you're pretty much in
the heart of the city.
You can also have backyard chickens in the neighborhood.
At the base of the Butte homes run anywhere from $250,000 to
$350,000 depending on condition. My favorite part of the neighborhood is the
Greenway, the bike paths here are very wide and user friendly. It goes along
the river all the way to Eugene. And you can literally ride your bike to Eugene
from this bike path and end up at Autzen stadium in probably 10-15 minutes,
depending on how fast you're riding. Cycling is an excellent way to get around
Eugene and Springfield. The bike paths
are very extensive and provide the neighborhood residents biking, walking, dog
walking and jogging. There is also a dirt trail for runners/joggers and dog
walker so they don't have to run on the asphalt path.
You can continue to ride the bike path and it will connect
you to so many different businesses and places to hang out.
I hope you enjoyed our tour of the Kelly Butte Neighborhood.
