Valley community is nestled between the University of Oregon and Lane Community
College. It has a rural feel, yet is close to shopping, restaurants, great
schools and lovely parks. Plus, you can tee off just up the road at the Laurel
Wood golf course. There's approximately 1600 people that live in the
valley.
There was a
survey done by Trulia and this is what the folks that live in this community
say, 90% of the folks enjoy the free roaming wildlife, turkeys and other wild
birds, deer and racoons. 90% of the folks agree you need a car to get around, 85%
of the folks say the yards and homes are very well-kept. 80% of the people love
that the neighborhood is a dog friendly, 76% of people enjoy the fact that the
children are safe to play outside. And last but not least 75% percent of the
people agree that it's safe to walk alone outside at night. The Laurel Hill
Valley is rated as one of the safest
neighborhoods in Eugene.
The Laurel
Hill Valley neighborhood feeds into the 4-J School District. The South Eugene High
School, which is rated number one in Eugene High school in Eugene serves grades
9 through 12 and has approximately 1466 students and the student to teacher
ratio is 26 to 1.
If you seek
a less traditional option, there is the Twin Rivers Charter School, which has
approximately 33 students and a 11 to 1 student teacher ratio and serves grades
8 through 12th.
Roosevelt
Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 and has 575 students.
And Edison
Elementary served grades K through 5 and has approximately 379 students.
Floral Hill Drive
boarders. The Laurel Hill Valley and Hendricks Park. The Valley views from
Floral Hill Drive are spectacular. Hendricks Park separates the Laurel Hill
Valley from the Fairmount neighborhood in Eugene. Hendricks Park is the oldest
park in Eugene and covers 78 acres. There are many walking paths and over 6000
varieties of rhododendrons and other ornamental plants. Spring is one of the
most beautiful time of year to visit the park when all the rhododendrons are in
bloom. It's a great time to take a hike, walk your dog and enjoy the park. Moon
Mountain City Park is another park that borders the Laurel Hill Valley. This
undeveloped natural area is part of the ridge line. Park system featuring
wildflower fields, upland prairies, oak woodlands and conifer forests. And
last, we have the Laurel Hill Park. The park sits on 3.6 acres and contains a
play area, walking/jogging paths and many mature sequoia trees right.
When this blog
was written May 2020, there are 10 active listings 2 pending sales and 8 closed
sales in the past 3 months. The average days on market are 44 and the average
sales price on closed homes is $415,000.
